Paris, like any other beautiful city, is one of those places that is harder to appreciate while navigating through throngs of people during fashion week. Luckily, I got a chance to go to the city for work two weeks before the event and got to enjoy the glamour of the city basked in wonderful autumn sunshine. It was lovely!
I went primarily for work, but arrived two days earlier than my meetings so I could enjoy the city I called home for nearly four months. I stayed at the Melia Vendome in the 1st arrondissement, which is a perfect area for walking to all the hot spots like the Louvre, Place Vendome, Opera and my favorite part of town, the Marais.
Its a really nice place to stroll around – there is so much to appreciate from manicured flowers, to amazing sculptures, to vistas of the Eiffel Tower and the Vendome Column. Walking around could easily take you half a day, and if you add a tour of the Louvre Museum to it, you can easily dedicate your entire weekend to exploring the gardens!
I had visited the Louvre when I lived in Paris, so this time I put my tourist hat on and enjoyed the sights almost as though I had never seem them before!
Now, this was weird…
